“When I first began to have visions, I recorded them only with pastels on velour because it is an instantaneous medium.  It facilitated my ability to spontaneously transfer my thoughts and revisualize my dreams. In five years, from 1976 to 1982, I created some 5,000 works.”  - Jamali
